Armodafinil is the enantiopure component of eugeroic modafinil drug and produced by the US based famous pharmaceutical company, called Cephalon Inc. The drug consists of enantiomer of racemic molecules and is approved by FDA in USA.

Food and Drug Association of America recognises armodafinil as a medicine to treat and cure excessive drowsiness and lethargy during day hours. This sleepiness and tiredness may result from sleep apnea, narcolepsy and sleep irregularities due to irregular work hours. Along with this, armodafinil is also used to treat attention deficit hyperactive disorder, severe fatigueness and psychological disorders and depression. Several other variants of armodafinil are acronite, armoda, armod, artvigil and neoresotyl.

To cure sleep disorders and narcolepsy, the recommended dose is armodafinil 150 mg t0 250 mg, depending on the clinical severity of the situation. Ideally, this should be consumed in the morning, an hour before one start work and can be taken before or after food. Abrupt stop may lead to severe health issues in the form of withdrawal symptoms like tremors, chills, sweating, nauseated feeling and confusion. Overdose of armodafinil may lead to acute breathlessness and breathing difficulties.

One must inform the doctor beforehand about any pre-existing heart conditions like enlarged heart, mitral valve problem, chest pain, cardiac attack and rapid and irregular heartbeats.
